It's really not so bad

It's been a couple months' now since I had funeral services for my television set. There was nothing uber-flat screen about her either - She was only 19", but she was a stocky, heavy-boned girl. She had full, round hips and large breasts. She really was a boob-tube.

The good news is she died peacefully in her sleep. Toward the end, she was a little grainy, and she started to lose her pitch for hearing certain sounds. She was very good to me over the years. I never heard any complaints from her like, "You're not going to watch that slutty Jenna Jameson one again, are you?"

What a champ.

I haven't found the motivation to replace her yet. I thought maybe I would on Neve Black Friday, but I didn't pull the trigger. I'm not sure if television sets are one of those things that you have to ease into replacing. Some people I know have so many, that I'm not sure if they'd notice if one just stopped breathing.

I'm actually enjoying not having a television set. It's really not so bad. It's quiet. When I'm not writing, I'm certainly not watching television. I'm reading more. After 9:00 p.m, I'm listening to 90.3 WCPN hosted by Dan Polletta. Movies? Yes, I do miss sliding a Netflix DVD in and relaxing on my couch. If I want to watch a movie, then I head to cute friend's house and snuggle up on his couch, or I go the theater and watch films on the really, really big screen.

It's really not so bad -

Or Steve might have one in his workshop...

Yes. Is that the same workshop that also stores, shackles, whips and feather, dusters too?

Hi Kirsten,
Yes. The workshop does sound intriguing, doesn't?

Instead of purchasing a shiny, new television set, my money went toward the other woman. So far, she's been worth every penny too...Thanks for asking. :-)

spam: dendempi. This sounds like large, exotic shrimp found only off the coast of the Seycheles.

Got monitors that I can hack so that the dvd player will work. Of course, yu can always watch Jenna on my wall with my presentation projector and see how big those things are. No couch but we can scrunch on my chaise lounge. I have tequila too. Miles can come too, but he has to sit on the floor.

The exwife got to keep the shackles and whips, but do a mean feather dusting. And there's always duct tape.

Steve,
You're a true sport. The words tequila and duct tape made my heart pitter-pat.
