Go And See

the film, I've Love You So Long. Dostoevsky-esque, the film has a foursome of themes: crime, punishment, judgment and redemption. Somehow, this film was NOT nominated for an Academy Award and I've already filed a formal complaint with the Academy about this wildly obvious oversight. Kristin Scott Thomas' performance was superb. She plays a woman released after serving 15 years in prison for a crime she willingly admits to commiting. As the plot slowly and beautifully unfolds, we learn more about her wounded and withdrawn character and the soul wrenching circumstances behind her crime.

What more can I say about this film besides, go and see it? The entire cast was perfect. The direction was magnificant. And I was crying like blubbering idiot. This was one of the best films I've seen.

Five Stars

Thanks for commenting Max. I think we need to shake things up at the Academy a little, don't you? What in the world...? How could this film have not made the final cut? Was someone sleeping or doing other things in the dark theater?

Gruff. :-)

Kirsten,
You'll have to give me feedback on Slumdog. I liked it, but I don't think it's an Academy Award winner. I'm such a snob when it comes to film though.

I'll be critiquing films this year at the Inter'l Film Festival when it comes to Cleveland. I can't wait!

No, I didn't get to see Wendy and Lucy, but I heard good things about that film.

I've Loved You So Long...phenomenal. Maybe you and Shanna could plan to go together? It's just so touching and beautiful. I bet you'll both enjoy it.
